Developing a
Genomic Medicine
Service in Senegal

10th - 14th March

The “Developing a Genomic Medicine Service in Senegal” course, taking
place from 10th - 14th March, 2025, in Dakar, will bring together leading
experts in clinical genetics and genomics to advance the understanding of
early-onset breast cancer in the region. Organized by the Institut Pasteur
de Dakar and the University of Southampton, this pilot study will explore
genetic predispositions to breast cancer in Senegalese women.

The course will provide a platform for knowledge exchange, focusing on
genomic technologies, clinical approaches, and ethical considerations,
while fostering collaboration between African and international
institutions. Participants will gain insights into genomic data processing,
biobanking, and the latest research in cancer genetics, with hands-on
training provided during an exclusive laboratory workshop (by invitation).
